Homemade donuts and a spoon girl breakfast!

Yummy in my tummy! We decided to make homemade donuts this weekend. They turned out really well too! We did all kinds of toppings... the cinnamon ones were my favorite! We used pizza dough per the food network. Kevin says he wants it sweeter next time... not plain like bread dough. I thought they were great!!!!

Not too bad for our first try in the donut business!

I've been too lazy to finally get this baby feeding herself with a spoon... We've never tried... cause I can't stand the mess. She actually did really great. She didn't mess with the bowl much either. Thank goodness she loves cereal. I was pretty excited for the progress we made.

She was soooo big! Megan just about polished off that bowl.

Girly Weekend

Aunt Steph bought Megan's little purple fairy outfit for this years Halloween. Unfortunately when we tried it on... it was a little snug. It was in fact... skin tight! After laughing about her big tummy... we thought we should at least take a few pictures before traumatizing her when we took it off. It was darn cute... but I couldn't imagine trying to get it back on again.

She had fun pulling apart the purple flowers outside her bedroom window.

She loves to dance!!!! She spins around and around... especially if she hears music!

Too bad this little fairy outfit didn't make the cut.
At least we had fun in it for a few minutes!

"First Hair Cut"
Friday morning Megan and I finally went to get her first trim! We started the morning off with a mini pedicure... and then off to the salon. She likes having her toes painted... for now. The hair cut actually went great. She only fussed for a minute when she put her apron on... freaked her out! Shari came and played with her while I had mine cut too.

Her smile was back... just moments later.
She ate bites of eggo waffles while Chelle cut her hair. We decide to just trim her bangs!

"So Happy"... in the midst of sickness!

It has been a really rough week! My entire family has had some yucky bug... that is... everybody but Megan and I. Can you believe it... Kevin got it... and I didn't. I have on the other hand had one of the worst colds I've ever had. Between body aches... sneezing... coughing... separate rooms... more body aches... lots of "not" sleeping... then lots of sleeping... we have really had some fun times with this little one.

Megan is cracking us up. We've been noticing so many cool things lately. Kevin and I keep catching ourselves saying... "look"... "hurry"... "you've got to come see this"... cause she's doing something so cute... impressive... or goofy.

Here are some of our favorites:

"Little green bench"
We have a little green bench at the front door that she has recently decided is hers. She seems very proud that it's just her size. I'll be on the couch... and she just walks over and sets her milk cup down... turns around... and sits in the corner like a big girl. I don't know why we think it's so cute... she just sits there looking out the window at the grass... and especially loves to watch Daddy mow the grass. Yesterday... Kev was impressed when she decided to carry it into the family room... put it next to the couch... and just sat down next to us. She gives the cutest little "proud smile." When she was done... she carried back over to the window to put it away.

"Matching her footwear"
This morning... while I was getting ready for work... Megan was busy playing in my closet. She loves pulling shoes out for Kevin and I. It's one of her favorite "words" to say. She insists we put them on. She pulled out one of the oldest tennis shoes... brought it to Kevin... then wondered back in the closet for several minutes... and came out with the matching shoe! I couldn't believe it... it was buried at the bottom of the stack... and she dug it out. She is already matching her footwear. Too cool!

"Saying HAPPY":
Best "new word"... Happy. It rocks! When you are sick and tired... if you just look at her and ask... "are you happy?"... she says so cute... "Happy"... "Happy"... turns her head to the side and smiles so big! It is just about the best thing ever. It is my third favorite word after "Mommy" and "Daddy".
We are greatful for a HAPPY little girl!

Stacking with both hands:
Megan is stacking up a storm. She is really good at sitting and playing with her toys by herself. It's fun to sit back and watch her discover everything. She loves books... and especially checking out how things work. Recently we have noticed her stacking skills. For months she has loved taking them out of her bag... one at a time... then putting them back in. Now... she likes to stack 'em. She sometimes does it with her left hand... sometimes with the right... but mostly alternates them both. She starts clapping... and raising her arms... "so big"... when it gets high. This past Monday... she stacked 9 high... 2 times in a row. We were pretty excited too.

Florida Football... Game Day!

We had a birthday breakfast for shell Saturday morning before the tailgate.

Yesterday... I painted Megan's toes for the first time!
They were so tiny! (Orange... for the Gators)

Gammie helped distract her... she really held still much better than expected! She didn't move an inch... "I think she's gonna be a girly girl"

It was soooooo hot... I was glad to get to go to a game... even though Kev and I were/ are both sick. We got the head cold junk going around. I wasn't looking forward to all the screaming and close quarters. We ended up having a great time... but man do we feel crummy today! (Sunday)

She loves dancing with her farm animals on the fridge... it plays a funny song when you make a match. Unfortunately she also likes to throw them on the tile floor... it makes a "fun" loud crashing noise. (stinker)

Toys Toys everywhere! She is really becoming an awesome player. She is so good at amusing herself. She has her clingy times... but surprises us everyday with just how big she is getting. She loves finding a corner on the floor with her books. (Loves to read... or at least flip the pages) We play BIG on the corda-roy bag in the living room. She is so much fun!!!!!! This morning Megan helped me dust the base boards... what a little helper. Sooner or later she will learn... its not very much fun. I'll take the help while I can get it.

Ultimate Date Night

"What a great night!"
"OH NO"... Our close friends Jimmy and Katie are moving away! Jimmy recently got a new job in Charlotte North Carolina. It will be a great move for them... but we will all miss them lots! Kevin and Joel took the lead on planning a special night for everyone (in honor of our friendship.) The Moms were in charge of finding babysitters... and the rest was up to them. They outdid themselves this time! A "surprise" limo picked us up one couple at a time... before taking us to dinner. We were definitely traveling in style. The evening was really a treat!

Kevin was so excited to surprise Jimmy with the limo. They were planning on us picking them up. Jimmy was teasing Kev on the phone the night before... saying "so what color is my limo gonna be?" Kev blew it off... and said... sorry to disappoint... my green truck will have to do. It was funny seeing the look on his face when we actually drove up in his limo.

We popped open some champaign to celebrate a great friendship! We love these two. They are really a cute couple! Silly most of the time... and thats why we love 'em.

This is where the evening went downhill. We should have stopped here. And yes... we did polish off all four plates of desert. We never even slowed down.
